TRS Radio (triathlon)
This 60-90 minute "live-to-tape" podcast features funny and candid interviews, comedy and the occasional angry rant. Ben Hobbs and co-host/writer/producer Dark Mark, regularly challenge the establishment as they examine the news and controversy of the week with wit, humor and irreverence. You can support the show by visiting patreon.com/trs.

This episode features two tremendous interviews. The first is with Howard Jacobs, one of the world's leading athlete doping defense attorneys. He has represented high profile athletes like Floyd Landis, Maria Sharapova and Marion Jones. More recently, he represented both Lauren Barnett and Beth Gerdes in their Ostarine cases.

Ben also spoke with the reigning ITU World Triathlon Series Champion, Flora Duffy. Not only did she win a world championship in the ITU WTS in 2016, she also won a world championship in ITU off-road race and the Xterra off-road series (her 3rd in a row).

In this episode Dark Mark introduces a new segment called "course cutters of the week". You don't want to miss it. Next, Ben gives a brief state of the union regarding all things TRS, including the spin-off of the TRS forum and new direction for the main website.

Finally, Ben interviews Colin Hackett an age-group athlete from Edmonton, Alberta. At one point Colin was 325 lbs and ashamed to take his shirt off by the pool. In the next 6 years, he completed 7 Ironman triathlons including Ironman Arizona where he went sub 12 at 250lbs. Weeks before his 8th Ironman, he was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and given 2 years to live. Since then, he's continued to do cool stuff, love his family, train, race (4 Ironman events), teach school and referee hockey games while receiving chemo every couple of weeks.

This is probably the best interview in the history of TRS Radio. John Joseph is a punk rock singer from New York City, most famous for his work with the Cro-Mags in the 1980s. Joseph was raised in foster care and grew up on the streets of New York. In 1981, he saw the Ironman in television and 35 years later he's in Kona racing.

After recording this conversation, Lionel Sanders decided it should be reserved for patrons only because he didn't want to to drum up controversy before the Ironman World Championship. Today, he changed his mind. In this episode he addressed the 2015 Kona swim controversy, drafting at 70.3 worlds, haters, Slowtwitchers, and whether or not his performances are believable.
